I figure if I'm going to build a game room, I might as well start with my favorite game. Over the years, I've collected a few pieces and parts to a Scramble cabinet, but still have a long way to go.Â
Here's what I need:
19" Monitor
Sept 12, 2009
Here's what I have so far:
1 Scramble Cabinet
(condition: beat-up and painted an ugly gray. When I aquired it, I tried stripping the gray paint off with mixed results. At least I have a template of the graphic if I choose to repaint it. The wiring harness inside and the coin door seem to be intact as well)
1 Glass painted bezal
(condition:Â Like the cabinet, has seen better days, but most of the artwork is in tact)
3 Control Panels
(condition: All 3 are functional. The CP on the cabinet has most of the CPO removed. The 2nd Scramble CP I have has most of the overlay in tact (see below)
As an alternative, I do have a Super Cobra CP that would work as well (see below)
Sept 18, 2009:
Scramble Board and Marquee arrive from KLOV Member, MikeSandwick - thanks Mike.

Sept 19 & 20, 2009:
Covered cabinet sideart with painter's masking tape and then painted cabinet back to the original yellow (or close enough)

| Blue masking tape applied to the STERN sideart | Cabinet painted Sun Yellow and masking tape is removed |

I know..I know..i painted the T-molding, but I need to replace it anyway, so I wasn't too worried about it.
Sept 27, 2009:
Taped week-old yellow paint in order to paint in the stenciled "STERN" sideart.

The cabinet is by no means perfect but it at least looks like a scramble cab! Just waiting to fix the harness (which I just recently noticed that the actual 36pin connector has been snipped off) and I await the correct monitor for this cab.

Restoration of power block:
Now to install the Power Supply Board
And power is in place.  Next is the harness edge connector.
